Position: Full time, paid internship

Length: July to August 30, 2024

Shift: Monday to Friday, days

Location: 32 First Line, Elora.

Eligibility: Available to anyone including Elora/Fergus High School students seeking a summer placement 

Work Environment: new warehouse with offices and cafeteria onsite

SUMMARY

By fostering relationships within the community, the Culture & Communications Coordinator promotes awareness for Metro culture programs and activities. In addition, this position is responsible for creating a positive work environment through the coordination and facilitation of employee experiences and events.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports employee positive recognition programs and employee relations programs.
• Coordinates and executes employee celebrations and events including but not limited to employee BBQ’s and lunches, thematic events, etc.
• Coordinates and administers employee communication programs, including newsletters, bulletin boards, shift start-up communications, diversity awareness, town hall/general meetings.
• Works with communications committee to get social media and newsletter content submitted
• Liaison with community partners such to promote annual Charity events, etc.
• Digital signage management and development.
• Address team member questions and concerns.
• Culture and Operations sign design and ordering.
• Facility start-up coordination and ordering

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• If you are a student, you must be currently attending high school in Elora/Fergus (must be 18 years or older)
• Previous customer service experience or event planning experience would be an asset
• Experience with writing and creative tools would be beneficial (Eg. Canva)
