Bilingual Specialist, Health Education Accreditation

Terms:  Full-time permanent

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Location: Ottawa or remotely (from anywhere in Canada)  

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

Accreditation Canada is searching for a driven and passionate professional to support its EQual health education accreditation program in its bold ambition to broaden its impact across Canada and the world. The EQual program partners with a growing list of health professions to ensure high-quality education.

As a Health Education Accreditation Specialist, you will join a collaborative team responsible for managing accreditation services for educational programs at colleges and universities, supporting the process of preparing graduates to deliver safe and effective care at entry to practice. In this role, you will oversee a portfolio of clients, coordinate accreditation processes and assessments, and work closely with surveyors to produce comprehensive reports. Additionally, you will play a key role in advancing quality improvement initiatives and supporting the strategic growth of Equal.  At times you may be required to travel for on-site surveys and occasionally work evenings and weekends.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage a Portfolio of Clients: Oversee client accounts, ensuring timely communication and addressing client needs while building long-term relationships.
  • Manage Accreditation Processes and Assessments: Oversee accreditation assessment activities, ensuring they are conducted rigorously, objectively and within established timelines. 
  • Provide Expert Client Support: Act as the primary resource for clients, offering advice, coaching, and exceptional service.
  • Draft Accreditation Reports: Prepare comprehensive and objective reports based on surveyor assessments and feedback, clearly outlining recommendations for quality improvement.
  • Lead Educational Sessions: Conduct presentations and workshops to enhance clients’ understanding of the accreditation process and standards.
  • Stay Informed on Standards: Stay current on accreditation standards, regulations, and developments in health and education fields.
  • Drive Quality Improvement and Business Development: Engage in or lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to business growth by identifying opportunities, adapting processes, and building client relationships.

 

Must Have Qualifications:

  • University degree, health professional credential, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of broad and progressive experience in healthcare or education with the focus on program administration, client account management, operational planning and scheduling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information, identify root causes, develop solutions, and provide impactful recommendations.
  • Proficiency in English and French, with exceptional writing skills in both languages.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement principles and methodologies

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in education, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in accreditation, professional regulation, or certification.
  • Project management qualification and/or experience.
  • Quality assurance qualification and/or experience.
