Position:  Plant Manager
Location:  Chatham Manufacturing Plant
Reporting to: VP, Operations – Distillery and Manufacturing Operations

Greenfield is looking for a Plant Manager to join our growing team. 

Position Overview: The Plant Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of the facility and achieves excellent results through leadership of his/her director reports. This role will establishing strategic objectives that are consistent with corporate and business unit goals and for achieving results that meet or exceed budgeted requirements.  The Plant Manager is responsible for both the technical performance of the facility and fostering a culture of employee engagement and positive employee relations.

Your Experience Should Include: 
•    Bachelor of Applied Science, B.A. Sc., Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering, or equivalent.
•    Management experience with alcohol production background is preferred.  Alternatively, management experience in a continuous chemical process is an asset.  
•    Experience managing multiple departments such as Safety & Environment, Production, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering is desired.
•    Proven skills in organization, decision-making, continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques.
•    Self-driven team player with a proven record for managing teams, developing people and achieving results through others.
•    Communicates competently in both oral and written form in English.  Communication abilities in French are an asset.
•    Open and straight-forward in communications expressing clear expectations, accurate and timely feedback, performance standards and accountability at all levels.  
•    Self-Awareness and strives for personal development, effectiveness, and improvement.
•    Highest regard and respect of employees, customers, and individuals
•    Possesses a high level of self-motivation and the ability to lead and motivate others.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to: 

•    Responsible for the technical performance of the facility (throughput, cost, and quality) while maintaining safety of all employees.
•    Responsible for the safety and environmental performance of the facility, ensures that the plant is fully compliant with all provincial and federal regulations and legislation, and exemplifies the importance that the company places on Environmental, Health and Safety.
•    Promotes and supports corporate, business unit, and plant goals and objectives in Operational departments as well as Safety, Environment, Product Quality, Customer Service and all compliance programs (ISO, FEMAS, FSMA, etc.)
•    Provide guidance, leadership and mentorship for all direct reports, supporting a culture of growth and development.
•    Working with the People & Culture team, fosters a culture of engagement and positive employee relations, promoting employee participation, continuous improvement, and contributions from all levels.  
•    Implements measures and systems to ensure that plant employees are fully compliant with established policies and procedures.
•    In conjunction with People & Culture Manager, responsible for the hiring, development, and promotion of employees in all department.  Maintains outsourcing contracts as appropriate.
•    Prepares annual operating budgets and production plans to meet or exceed corporate objectives.  Implements the appropriate measures and systems to ensure that the production throughput and budget are consistently achieved.
•    Within corporate guidelines, prepares an annual capital plan to maintain the safety, reliability, consistency, and efficiency of the production facility.
•    Works closely with other site managers and directors to benchmark, share ideas and continuously optimize plant performance.
•    Develops and manages strategic alliances with suppliers, contractors, and vendors.  Oversees purchasing activities related to all plant operations.
•    Represents and promotes the facility within the local community.
•    Promotes the company Core Principles and Core Values in all interactions.
