About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity to support our UK Team as a Corporate Communications & PR Manager based in London, UK. The Corporate Communications & PR Manager is part of the global communications team and plays a key role in leading strategic company and business-related communications as well as consumer PR for the EMEA region. The role works across key functions and actively collaborates with a broad range of internal stakeholders. The individual is both a team player and self-starter and can both develop and execute plans.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create, edit and distribute communication materials, including news articles, web page copy, video scripts, press releases, executive communications, presentations, and speeches.
  • Develop proactive and reactive communications strategies, in partnership with the global communications team, to address issues that could impact the company's reputation.
  • Serve as a core member of the global crisis response management team.
  • Organize, schedule and prepare key leaders and subject matter experts for media interviews and speaking engagements.
  • Support material development for internal communications to employees and franchisees on corporate topics, as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with local (country level) marketing teams on corporate and consumer communication initiatives, including developing toolkits and templates to ensure consistency in messaging.
  • Partner with Head of Sustainability for EMEA to develop appropriate sustainability messaging and communications.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the business to gather information and provide strategic communications guidance.
  • Ensure messaging in various communication materials is consistent and follows brand guidelines.
  • Stay attuned to emerging topics and various communication tools, techniques/best practices.
  • Monitor and report on communications content and stories related to Subway and the industry.
  • Manage online pressroom.
  • Work with external consultants and agencies, including managing an external PR agency.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications (some examples listed below):

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a Communication, PR or any related field
  • Technical Proficiencies: MS Office Suite (PPT, Excel, Word, SharePoint) with the ability to quickly learn other applications, as necessary.
  • Experience developing and implementing comprehensive communications plans for an organization, brand or program, working with cross-functional teams across regions
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and present to senior leadership teams
  • Experience developing and implementing comprehensive communications plans for an organization, brand or program, working with cross-functional teams across regions
  • Understands communication metrics and analytics.
  • Knowledge of AP style, and ability to adapt writing style for a variety of platforms and channels, including web and video.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize workload and comfortable working within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, detail oriented
  • Interpersonal, relationship-building and networking skills with a self-motivated attitude to work.
  • Language requirements: Fluent in English – any additional language a plus.
