Westland Insurance Group Ltd is growing and has a new opportunity for a Financial Analyst working either remotely or in a hybrid model at our Head Office at the King George Hub in Surrey, BC.  We are looking for a career-minded individual who is focused on growing their finance knowledge and experience.

 

Expected Compensation: The expected annual hiring range for this role is $67,200 to $84,000 with a 35-hour work week. Your rate of pay will be determined based on your individual qualifications and experience, while considering internal equity.

As a Financial Analyst, you'll be a key player in driving Westland's growth strategy, both organic and through acquisitions. You'll take charge of analyzing financial activities and offering strategic insights to guide future financial planning. Working closely with your team, you'll ensure that reporting deadlines are consistently met, and high service standards are upheld.

Why we’ll love You:

  • A natural problem solver with a keen eye for data and details
  • Proficient in MS Office with advanced skills in Excel
  • A degree in Commerce or Business, with a focus on Finance or Accounting
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a financial analyst/senior financial analyst role with at least 5 years of professional experience
  • CPA designation or other post-secondary Accounting/Finance certification is an asset
  • Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is an asset

 

Once here, you'll:

  • Dive deep into data analysis, closely examining financial statements, revenue, and expense accounts to identify key trends and assess overall financial performance. You'll follow up with various finance team members to gain clarity on transactions, ensuring a thorough understanding of our financial landscape.
  • Take charge of preparing detailed reports for management, offering insights on financial performance, projections, and monthly reviews. Your work will contribute to comprehensive functional reports for departments and polished presentations for the board.
  • Play a critical role in budgeting by supporting the development and monitoring of budgets, helping to identify variances and provide strategic insights.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with teams across departments, including accounting and operations, to gather data and deliver clear, actionable financial insights that drive decision-making and company success.
