We are currently seeking a permanent full time Bagging Rail Operator to join its vibrant team. The purpose of a Bagging Rail Operator is to remotely control and operate the train for tasks such as switching, shunting, or moving trains along designated tracks, enhancing operational efficiency and safety.

Work Schedule : Day shift (5AM-5PM) - 4/3 schedule - working 4 days the first week and 3 days the second week - must be available every second weekend

Main Responsibilities:

• Handle the remote-control hopper car mover to position cars accurately for unloading.
• Ensure proper alignment of cars in place for unloading.
• Open and close hopper doors using air power, applying physical strength when necessary.
• Maintain clear communication with the Bulk and Bagging Supervisor to understand the lineup and schedule for unloading cars.
• Generate and maintain an accurate track list on the computer to keep track of car numbers and unloading status.
• Accurately transpose car numbers into the system to ensure correct documentation and tracking.
• Conduct thorough inspections of railcars upon receipt, identifying and reporting any damages or anomalies to ensure quality standards are upheld.
• Report any downtime or mechanical issues experienced with the equipment to the Bulk and Bagging Supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness around the work area and equipment to ensure a safe and organized environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Heavy machinery operating experience with forklifts and/or other machines.
• Attention to safely protocols
• Good communication, fast learner
• Ability to work physically and on your feet throughout the shift
• Able to occasionally be required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must have the ability to work well with others as part of a team.

• Must be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions. 

We do not require experience operating a train/Rail due to the unique nature of these tasks.  Training will be offered in-house, but heavy machinery experience is a must.
