Job Summary:

As a Sales Representative for our education and adventure programs, you'll focus on booking field trips tailored for schools and organizing corporate team-building events. Your role involves working closely with teachers and corporate clients to understand their needs and deliver customized, memorable experiences. You'll drive sales growth by building strong relationships, managing bookings, and ensuring high customer satisfaction. On occasion you will lead groups of students and/or adults educating them about our education programs as part of the Grouse Mountain Refuge for Endangered Wildlife program.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for both Inbound and Outbound sales calls and initiatives:
    • Identify, research, and target potential clients (schools, educational institutions, businesses, etc.) through cold calls, emails, and other outreach strategies.
    • Manage inbound calls, emails, and online inquiries from potential clients, providing information about programs and services.
  • Track, manage, and update customer interactions using Triple Seat software to ensure follow-ups and timely responses
  • Engage with leads to understand their educational programming needs and tailor recommendations based on their objectives and challenges.
  • Build and maintain a sales pipeline by nurturing prospects from initial contact through to contract signing, ensuring a continuous flow of business.
  • Manage the sales process from start to finish for all educational and corporate training inquiries.
  • Ensure smooth handover to the implementation team post-sale, providing any necessary customer details and insights for successful program delivery.
  • Liaise between clients, education coordinator and department leaders for the implementation of programs and use of internal facility space within the required timeline.
  • Regularly report on sales activities, conversion rates, and forecast data to management, providing insights on customer feedback and market opportunities.
  • Deliver and lead an energetic, fun, educational experience for people of all ages, which may include (but is not limited to) educational curriculum, wildlife programs, First Nation's history and culture, experiential activities and games
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

 

Supervisory Responsibility
This position reports directly to the Manager, Education, Wildlife & Adventure Programs; no direct supervisory responsibilities are given.

 

 

Required Qualifications and Abilities

 

  • Post-secondary courses in Education, Environmental management, Outdoor Recreation and/or Sciences (Biology/Environmental Studies or related majors) preferred
  • Proven experience in sales (2-3 years), especially in inbound/outbound sales, with a focus on education or service-based industries preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to various audiences.
  • Strong closing skills with the ability to handle objections and secure contracts.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and provide solutions that align with their goals and educational requirements.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and other communication tools.
    • Experience with virtual meeting platforms is a plus.
    • Experience using TripleSeat and/or Siriusware an asset
  • Understanding of B.C. Ministry of Education’s Core Competencies an asset; preference given to those who have a working knowledge of BC school systems and Ski School operations
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A driven individual with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets, work independently, and take initiative.

  

Working Conditions

 

Primarily an office environment with some duties such as snowshoe setup being outdoors in all weather conditions. Full Time position, working an average of 40 hours a week Monday to Friday.

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

$20.00/hour up to $25.00/hour; Plus competitive Sales Incentive Bonus
