About the Role

The Director, FP&A will be responsible for providing financial insights and projections to the finance team. This role requires the ability to understand the business operations and translate them into financial metrics. The FP&A Analyst will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis. This role will also work in collaboration with Finance team members across North America and France.

Note: The office location can be Ottawa, Woodbridge, Montreal or Calgary. Candidates based in Montreal must be bilingual in French and English. Egis offers a hybrid/remote work environment with an in-office presence for meetings when required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

As a member of our Finance team, your duties will include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports;
    • Analyzing financial data and creating financial models for decision support;
    • Reporting on financial performance and preparing for regular leadership reviews.
  2. Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Leading the annual budgeting process;
    • Developing financial forecasts and tracking the performance against budget;
    • Identifying trends and variances and providing actionable insights.
  3. Strategic Analysis:
    •  Conducting financial analysis to support strategic initiatives;
    • Evaluating financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts;
    • Providing insights into business performance and suggesting improvements.
  4. Data Management:
    • Maintaining financial data integrity and accuracy;
    • Developing, implementing and maintaining financial databases and systems.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Working closely with various departments to understand their financial needs and supporting them in financial planning;
    • Communicating financial insights and recommendations to management.
  6. Ad-hoc Analysis:
    • Performing ad-hoc analysis and financial modeling as required;
    • Supporting special projects and initiatives as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Completion of a university degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field; 
  • MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g. CFA, CPA);
  • 10 years of demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within an engineering consulting firm;
  • Advanced analytical, problem - solving and financial modeling skills;
  • Proficient in financial software and tools (e.g. Excel, Oracle, Deltek);
  • Excellent communication, presentation, leadership and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy along with excellent time management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment;
  • Ability to handle multiple and competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
