About the Job:
We are looking for a Dental Hygienist to join our team - providing excellent patient centric care is our passion!
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will uphold the highest standards of patient care and be passionate about educating on the treatment that will ensure the best outcome for their patients.
- Adhere to and uphold the highest standards of infection control practices and guidelines, including while processing instruments and treatment rooms
- Medical health history screening and updates
- Conduct baseline and routine assessments (including full mouth charting, probing, oral cancer screening)
- Radiographs (as prescribed by the Dentist) or dental impressions as required
- Identify conditions and oral disease such as: gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
- Dental Hygiene treatment planning including patient specific preventive dental care (scaling, prophy, fluoride etc. as required)
- Educate patients by providing oral hygiene instruction, plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions as required
- Maintain accurate documentation/charting
- Collaborate with the team to monitor supplies
- Identify gaps in clinical schedule and assist with scheduling, such as: booking preventive recall appointments, following up with outstanding treatment plans
- Collaborate with colleagues during down-time in schedule (Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants Dentists and Administration)
- Attend continuing education events from time to time and as required
Requirements:
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene
- Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the CDHO
- Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail
- A friendly personality who works collaboratively with a team!
