About the Role

We are looking for a part-time Dental Hygienist to join our team of passionate oral health professionals. Responsibilities include conducting initial patient screenings, preventive dental care and being an oral health educator and advocate. You will work closely with the team to identify and treatment plan according to individual patients needs.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will uphold the highest standards of patient care and be passionate about educating on the treatment that will ensure the best outcome for their patients.

• Ensure best practices & standards of infection control practices and guidelines, including while processing instruments and treatment rooms
• Medical health history screening and updates
• Conduct baseline and routine assessments (including full mouth charting, probing, oral cancer screening)
• Radiographs (as prescribed by the Dentist) or dental impressions as required
• Dental Hygiene diagnosis, treatment planning including patient specific preventive dental care (scaling, prophy, fluoride etc. as required)
• Patient education
• Maintain accurate documentation/charting
• Identify gaps in clinical schedule and assist with scheduling, such as: booking preventive recall appointments, following up with outstanding treatment plans in the operatory
• Collaborate with colleagues during down-time in schedule (Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants Dentists and Administration)
• Attend continuing education events and opportunities to learn about new equipment, 

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene
• Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the CDHO
• Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail
• A friendly personality who loves to work collaboratively with a team
