Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for full-time Pharmacist to join our Harbour Pharmacy location in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. A clinic style pharmacy located right on the lake in downtown La Ronge. Working here you are right in the action working with over 10 doctors, 2 nurses and social workers. You get to be a big part of the healthcare team every single day. The pharmacy is really modern (only 5 years old) it has a Script Pro dispensing robot (automation) and their Kroll system uses Prescribe IT with the doctors next door. They have a large staff – the usual shift is 2-4 pharmacists and 6 assistants.)This location gives pharmacists a taste of all types of pharmacy practice – Long term care, lots of acute care and Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT) - (Methadone & Suboxone are done here with patients case workers right in the building).

Position Details:

  • Up to 40 hrs / week 

  • Hours 9am-5:30pm 

 

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities: 

The Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy and actively contributes to an environment of employee and customer engagement. The Pharmacist will play a key role in achieving departmental excellence in the areas of patient focused care, customer service and workflow efficiencies. 

 

Focus on clinical services (i.e., medication reviews, disease state management)  

Initiate care plans, follow up and document 

Administer vaccines 

Determine appropriateness of drug therapy 

Monitor medication adherence 

Collect and document relevant patient, drug, and disease information 

Recommend OTC products and vitamins 

Answer questions from patients that require therapeutic knowledge, clinical analysis, or assessment 

Supervise a pharmacy student or a provisional pharmacist in the performance of restricted activities 

Other duties as required 

 

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Experience in Kroll 

  • Experience working in a retail environment 

  • Good communication skills (both oral and written) 

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail 

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
