What are we looking for:
Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, the Sourcing Specialist plays an essential role in growing the procurement scope within our business through efficient processes, collaboration and sharing best practices.


In this role, you’ll be responsible for achieving the sourcing strategy to maximize customer service levels, optimize supply channels, and minimize inventory levels and acquisition costs of supplies, services and capital expenditures.


You will work closely with the Sourcing Manager, the entire Procurement team as well as Operations, Corporate Services, Engineering, Warehouse & Logistics, Health and Safety, Finance and other teams within the business.


We are on the lookout for a driven individual with a passion for the Cosmetics industry and strong knowledge of Indirect Category.


What you will be doing:
PO Management and Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Ensure flow of raw materials necessary for new launches based on daily Material Planning Report, including material and vendor maintenance in ERP system, sample collection, PO call-off, material tracking and invoice matching
  • Support on-going quality initiatives and tackle vendor quality issues whenever required.
  • Maintain purchasing files for purchase orders and vendor approvals.
  • Establish vendor service level and performance goals with cross-functional teams and measured results
  • Communicate, monitor, and manage compliance with suppliers or strategies
  • Seek to improve capabilities & performance of strategic suppliers
  • Track and manage performance of suppliers and ensure that performance issues are quickly resolved
  • Works closely with all departments to implement and/or update data system and ensures that all data is accurate and kept up to date

Sourcing:

  • Support sourcing, qualification and development of new, alternative and innovative suppliers who can reduce costs, improve service, or enhance product quality
  • Coordination and evaluation of procurement for the facility
  • Perform procurement activities which include tender management, negotiation and preparation of contracts
  • Support efforts to demonstrate project feasibility, project timing, and resource needs

Sourcing Management:

  • Identify opportunities for annual improvements in quality, service, & cost for the designated categories
  • Assist Business Stakeholders with material and process selections
  • Responsible for data collection, analytics, and performance tracking to ensure an optimized supply chain

Category Cost Management for designated categories:

  • Support annual material cost savings per plan
  • Execute strategic procurement initiatives to expected outcomes & on-time execution
  • Leverage analytics to identify life-cycle cost optimization opportunities
What makes you a "glittering" candidate
  • Post-secondary education in a Business Administration, or relevant work experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ procurement experience, with direct experience in a Buyer/Purchaser capacity
  • Category management experience and understanding of supply chain principles and processes
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient knowledge of procurement systems (ERP/MRP, SAP, Ariba, etc.)
  • Proven business acumen with a systematic, and analytical approach to problem solving and negotiation
  • Superior time management skills - able to work in a fast paced, changing environment and meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and an ability to communicate at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Well-developed negotiation skills – able to deliver results while maintaining strong supplier/ stakeholder engagement
  • Highly organized and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, applying best practices and tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong grasp of inventory management principles
  • Service oriented, diligent on follow up
  • Ability to support the delivery of the long-term goals to be achieved while working through the day to day tasks

Extra Glitter:

  • Pharmaceutical or food industry experience is an asset
  • Supply Chain designation will be an asset
  • APICS CPIM and or PMAC certification is desirable
