Job Overview:
We are looking for a Maintenance Process and Training Manager. Reporting to the Director, Maintenance you will be responsible for implementing best practices and standard processes surrounding maintenance planning, providing a dedicated focus on enhancing operational efficiency and reduced operational costs. In addition, lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive apprenticeship and maintenance training program, increasing maintenance technician retention and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive training program in cooperation with HR to upskill existing technicians and train new apprentices utilizing both online and in-class instruction.
- Develop technical expertise across the maintenance team, leading to improved equipment reliability, reduced downtime, and increased operational efficiency.
- Create and oversee the apprenticeship program and ensure objectives of the program are met
- Planning and Scheduling/Maintenance Process Leadership
- Assist in leading the planning and scheduling team, implementing best practices and processes for effective maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies.
- Standardize planning and scheduling to address PM/CM backlog and reduce OT via wrench time studies.
- Support and develop the maintenance team, including providing feedback and conducting formal evaluations, to ensure employees have the right resource skills, competencies, and expertise to meet departments and agreed-upon objectives of the company
- Initiating corrective action to the team based KPIs, downtime and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports; to increase uptime and efficiency and reduce downtime and waste (labor, time, material, process, part)
- Continuous Improvement
- Responsible for continuously evaluating and improving maintenance processes, procedures, and methodologies. · Identify opportunities for process optimization, implement industry best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance function.
Recipe for Success:
- Completion of college diploma in Engineering or a related field
- 4 years’ experience Managing teams
- 3 years’ experience within the Food Manufacturing industry
- Project Management Profession (PMP) Certificate
- An excellent problem solver with strong troubleshooting skills
- Advanced working knowledge on mechanical/electrical systems and components; including, but not limited to, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Pumps, Gear Boxes, Power Transmission, Material Handling, Sensor, Transmitters, DC and AC circuits, Transformers, Power and Energy, Arc Flash
