AV Group NB Inc. is currently recruiting for the following position located in Nackawic, NB:  Senior Accounting Generalist – Finance & Accounting – Based out of Nackawic, NB.

Role Overview

The Senior Accounting Generalist position is part of the Finance & Accounting department and reports to the Controller of the Nackawic Mill. The incumbent will work on the Financial Reporting package, will compile and analyze costs, complete various duties of the month-end closing process, work with external auditors and be involved in the yearly budget preparation.  This position’s focus also includes being a support to the Controller with various ad hoc requests, internal controls, policies and procedures, reconciliations and the day-to-day activities of the department.  This position will provide ample opportunities for career development.

Responsibilities

  • Month-end close Procedures including balance sheet GL reconciliation;
  • Review plans with Maintenance manager and Mill Manager on identified work completed during the month to be accrued or included in LE in the reporting period;
  • Coordinate with Capital project team to close project on time;
  • Raw Material reconciliation at the month end;
  • Preparation of working papers for financial statement reviews and audits for Chemical Plant;
  • Cost analysis support and commercial support to Various teams of mills;
  • Ensure all controls are monitored and implemented effectively and accurately;
  • Analyze and produce reporting relating to Payroll Fringe Benefit accounts;
  • Coordinate the budgeting and forecasting process to ensure compliance with established timelines;
  • Prepare and maintain the annual budget in Hyperion including the MIS budgeting file;
  • Prepare and distribute data and work closely with Management to prepare Chemical Plant Budget;
  • Prepare and distribute data and work closely with Management to prepare Labour Budget;
  • Complete raw material delivery documents, prepare spreadsheet and send to Concentrix for GRN creation;
  • Collect fuel delivery slips, and update file with data for review and release by Operations team, prior to forwarding to Concentrix for GRN processing;
  • Pickup Canada post and distribute as required;
  • File Cheques and bank data;
  • Monitor Petty Cash at Security;
  • Provide Blue Cross account distribution for Concentrix;
  • Update new order provisions to allow for sales from the Chemical Plant;
  • Check, update, and scan LPO's to Controller’s folder for review as that are presented by Purchasing;
  • Prepare and circulate maintenance Spent and Overhead spent daily;
  • Assist with ad hoc analyses and projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting;
  • Work Experience in general /cost accounting and month end closing process preferred;
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Especially Excel);
  • ERP (SAP) experience considered an asset;
  • Well established organization and communication skills;
  • High level of motivation, energy and able to cope with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
