Accounting Generalist – Finance & Accounting, Fredericton

AV Group NB Inc. is currently recruiting for an Accounting Generalist located in Fredericton, NB office.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Generalist will take a lead role in management reporting, budgetary control, variance analysis and to provide accurate information to support decision making. The Accounting Generalist will also ensure compliance with corporate policies and IFRS.

Responsibilities:

• Process Accounts Payable (AP) invoices;
• Prepare and submit weekly payment runs for vendors;
• Compliance with corporate policies and delegation manual for AP invoices;
• Resolve issues related to AP invoices, processing and payments;
• Manage calls from vendors with respect to payment queries/vendor account reconciliations;
• Account coding for direct AP invoices;
• Process financial entries to ensure a proper recording of AP transactions;
• Coordinate with purchasing departments and users for issues related to AP;
• Coordinate with outsourced AP staff.
• Month-end close procedures including balance sheet reconciliations;
• Assist with ad hoc analyses and projects as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years post-secondary qualification in accounting;
• 2+ years’ relevant experience in Accounts Payable;
• Experience in MS Office (specifically Excel);
• Preferably worked in an ERP system (specifically SAP ERP would be a benefit);
• Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• High level of motivation, energy and a desire to work in a dynamic team environment;
• Attention to detail.
