About the Role:

 

We have an exciting opportunity to support our Restaurant Technology team as a Technical Delivery Manager - POS based in Miami, FL. The Technical Delivery Manager will be responsible for the delivery of the development, project leadership, quality, and timely delivery of the project. This role must be able to deliver using waterfall and agile delivery methods. This role will collaborate with the team leaders and project stakeholders to mitigate risks/issues, plan/track project tasks and dependencies, provide clear status, and ensure the smooth delivery of our global agenda.

 

The Technical Delivery Managers role must have a strong understanding of technical concepts and systems and excellent project management skills. This role is also responsible for ensuring that the technical aspects of the delivery are completed successfully.

 

The Technical Delivery Manager will work closely with other Sr Directors, Directors, Sr. Managers, Managers, Scrum Masters, Product Managers/Owners, delivery teams, release manager, business stakeholders, and other project roles. Throughout the project or product lifecycle, the Technical Delivery Manager provides clear status and manages risk mitigation. The Technical Delivery Manger will partner closely with our PMO/VMO team to ensure consistent forecasting and reporting within the broader technology organization. This seasoned professional is accountable to lead and manage the successful delivery of projects and new capabilities to market on time, on budget, and within scope in accordance with business priorities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, prioritize, mitigate project risk and manage simultaneously complex projects to ensure the successful on-time, on-budget, and quality delivery of projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to ensure that they have the skills and support they need to complete their tasks.
  • Work closely with the business and technical leads to align to project scope or product vision and roadmap.
  • Create and manage a dynamic project plan, detailing project critical tasks, establishing governance, and tracking high level milestones, including dates, dependencies, owners, risks, mitigation, etc.
  • Lead the project release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities with all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for overall project success, business objectives, project budget and ROI targets stated in business case.
  • Lead the project team ensuring the teams are clear on vision and direction to provide business context.
  • Provide regular guidance and support to the project and/or delivery team to ensure the team is informed, on-track and will deliver tasks successfully and ensure the delivery team has an adequate number of tasks to work on.
  • Manage resource allocations, ensuring all teams are equally balanced as well as tracked against actual hours submitted via SmartSheets.
  • Work closely with internal and external customers and stakeholders, including any third parties to gather business requirements and define software functionality, throughout the release lifecycle, from inception to general release to ongoing support.
  • May also work with internal and/or external development teams and vendor partners to deliver project objectives.
  • Provide regular high-level updates to leadership detailing status, timelines, dependencies, risks, and mitigation.
  • Manage, track, and coordinate the completion of project documentation (i.e. design documents) and monitoring dashboards/alerts.
  • Validate all requirements, stories meet acceptance criteria and have the appropriate acceptance tests and accept requirements and stories as appropriate only if it passes all validations.
  • Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects while ensuring all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Management Info Systems, Business, or other technical discipline or related experience.
  • PMP Certified Required
  • SAFe Agile or comparable SCRUM Certification Desirable.
  • 5 years experience managing delivery of software projects/products.
  • 5 years experience leading software development teams.
  • Proven experience in project management of several complex, interconnected projects in waterfall and SAFe Agile environments.
  • Strong technical background and significant experience in managing software development lifecycles.
  • Ability to drive progress of a bold Project in a large, cross-functional manner in a global company.
  • Business knowledge of POS technology in the restaurant, retail, or comparable relevant industry.
  • Proficient with Project Management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, as well as ALM tools such as Azure Dev Ops or Jira.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office tools, like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Ability to work and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expert in Resource Planning, Forecasting, and Budget Management.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability.
  • Ability to influence across and up in the organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an in depth understanding of project management concepts.
