About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity to support our Legal team as a Sr. Paralegal Compliance & Corporate based in Shelton, CT. The Compliance and Corporate Paralegal will handle a broad range of tasks across a varied spectrum of disciplines, including regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and risk management.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs, including:

  • Support in the development of practices and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and prepare reports for management.
  • Conduct research on regulatory requirements and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Monitor, track and report on compliance issues and regulatory changes that may impact the organization.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of compliance training programs.
  • Monitor compliance line and serve as point of contact for compliance-related inquiries from internal/external stakeholders.

 

Support corporate governance:

  • Assist with corporate filings.
  • Maintain corporate entity information in Diligent and CSC.
  • Maintain corporate records, including POAs, entity chart and signatory list.

 

Other Duties:

  • Provide support for special projects and initiatives related to corporate compliance and governance.
  • Provide litigation administrative support.
  • Attend to various administrative tasks as necessary.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Paralegal Certificate required.
  • 3-5 years' experience corporate compliance and/or governance experience.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficiency in SmartSheets preferred.
  • Ability to learn various computer platforms (OneTrust, Tracker).
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, independently manage tasks, balance shifting priorities, and meet deadlines.
