WHAT YOU WILL DO
Reporting to the General Manager, Terminal Construction, the Project Manager III will lead the development and successful delivery of Storm Damage Restoration and Concourse B Rehabilitation. This also includes contractor and consultant negotiations, financial management and comprehensive reporting to all stakeholders. The Project Manager III will act as the main project representative with all airport partners and ensure there is strong buy-in and alignment for these projects. This role will also lead and mentor a group of passionate Junior Project Managers and Project Coordinators.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Manage and coordinate planning, design, construction, installation, testing, commissioning and turn-over activities to successfully complete civil projects at the Calgary Airport
• Ensure the Storm Damage Restoration and Concourse B Rehabilitation teams have a strong understanding of business outcomes and deliverables for all projects
• Assist in the long term and short-term planning efforts for the overall Infrastructure team
• Provide leadership, direction and support to the Design and Construction teams:
    o Plan and direct work activities, distributing work assignments to team
    o Establish performance goals for project ensuring they meet corporate goals and align with YYC strategic plan
    o Provide mentorship and coaching to Junior Project Managers, Project Coordinators and supporting staff
• Responsible for negotiations with contractors or consultants.
• Directs the preparation of studies, simulations, contract documents/drawings, specifications, schedules and cost estimates
• Develop project charters with internal clients, report progress to internal clients, supervisors, and other stakeholders as required
• Conduct design and status review meetings, monitor schedules, estimate design and construction durations, set and communicate project milestones
• Works closely with Airport Operations to ensure detailed operational plans & schedules are prepared, communicated and managed
• Plans, organizes, and delivers the activities related to construction tenders collaboratively with the Supply Chain Department
• Work collaboratively with other project managers, airport planners, special data services, and the design group to provide technical advice on engineering matters
• Managing annual project budgets, cash flows and approving progress payments in accordance with work performed
• Maintain highest standards of quality assurance
• Act as The Authority’s main project representative with regulatory agencies, contractors, consultants, suppliers and third-party inspectors related to specific projects
• Membership and participation in a professional association such as APEGA considered an asset

WHAT YOU BRING
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field
• 12+ years’ experience in engineering or project management with proven experience in construction
• Professional designation such as P. Eng. or PMP is required
• Experience with projects budgets of $10M+ and in managing larger projects as directed by leadership
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore) and familiarity with financial management tools.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and safety.
• Proactive and solution-oriented, with a strong commitment to achieving project objectives.
• Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to manage change and uncertainty.
