The opportunity:

The Innisfil YMCA is looking for a Part-Time Night Cleaner. The Night Cleaner/Heavy Duty Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the facility in ‘as new’ condition  by ensuring a high standard of deep cleaning and general maintenance.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Demonstrate strong support and commitment to serving the membership, facility users and all program participants of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.
  • Maintain a high level of cleaning at all times as per YMCA protocols, and standards.
  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the equipment, products, procedures and standards involved in the ongoing deep cleaning of the facility.
  • Respond to general maintenance requirements and other duties when assigned by Supervisor, Cleaning & Maintenance.
  • Communicate all system malfunctions, mechanical deficiencies and service disruptions to the Supervisor, Cleaning and Maintenance or Duty Manager.
  • Communicate effectively with day staff to ensure transfer of information necessary for effective facility operations.
  • Maintain all Health and Safety requirements/qualifications, including but not limited to WHMIS, Employee Health and Safety, etc.
  • Respond to the safety, service and security issues of members and participants in a respectful and courteous manner.
  • Adherence to all provincial and federal legislation relevant to job description.

 

You bring:

  • ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Strong practical knowledge of cleaning procedures, standards and practices.
  • WHMIS Certification
  • Physical readiness to work
  • Emergency Training
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Willingness to participate in mandated training to be completed before or shortly after commencement of work including:
    • AODA Training
    • Health & Safety Awareness Training
    • Bill 168 (Violence & Harassment in the Workplace) Training
    • PCI Compliance
    • WHMIS
    • Child Protection Training
