Adult Physical Programs - Fitness Leader

The opportunity:

The Fitness Leader is responsible for delivering quality, values based , Fitness programming to a diverse membership. The Programming will be created and executed with member safety and experience as a priority.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Plan, organize and deliver fitness programs and services. Maintain records as needed including program area maintenance items and daily checklists.
  • Deliver service friendly, fitness programming.  Monitor and maintain high quality instruction and customer service, adhering to YMCA SAM Standards and best practices.
  • Monitor and maintain a high level of ongoing member participation in the programs you are responsible for.
  • Be responsible for the safety and security of YMCA members and participants at all times:
  • Complete incident report forms for emergency and first aid situations.
  • Assist and work with the Duty Manager in the event of an emergency or building evacuation.
  • Provide excellence in member service, adhering to YMCA SAM Standards.
  • Respond to members concerns in a helpful and positive manner.
  • Support and work as part of a staff/volunteer team to ensure that all members’ YMCA experience is a positive one.
  • Demonstrate strong support and commitment to serving the membership, facility users and all program participants of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.
  • Build and maintain relationships with members and participants through deliberate dialogue and interaction.
  • Ensure the uninterrupted delivery of membership programs and services.
  • Actively work towards maintaining a neat, clean, safe and well-organized area at all times.
  • Preform other duties as assigned.

 

You bring:

  • Nationally recognized group fitness certification (Can Fit Pro or YMCA etc.)
  • Standard First Aid and CPR C Certification
  • Responsible for maintaining re-certification and yearly Continuing Education Credits
  • Experience Instructing fitness classes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer Literate/Systems Management
  • Willingness to participate in mandated training to be completed before or shortly after commencement of work including:
    • AODA Training
    • Health & Safety Awareness Training
    • Bill 168 (Violence & Harassment in the Workplace) Training
    • PCI Compliance
    • WHMIS
    • Child Protection Training
