Riverview Animal Health Centre, New Brunswick’s premier family practice and 24-hour Emergency and Referral Center is a full service hospital with the latest technologies including cardiac ultrasound, computed tomography scan, radio-iodine therapy, dental root canals, and a wide variety of advanced medical and surgical cases. 

Our team of over 75 people, including 16 DVMs, boasts specialists like a clinical behaviourist and veterinarians with advanced surgical knowledge and experience.  

The hospital has been accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) for over 30 years and is recognized among the finest in the industry for being consistently at the forefront of advanced veterinary medicine. We are also a Cat Friendly Practice accredited at the Gold level.  

We are growing fast and have a strong need for an Associate Veterinarian focused on Orthopedic Surgery.  

Riverview Animal Health Centre provides a wide range of Orthopedic experience anywhere from screening, diagnosing, surgical repair and post-operative care. Our team is trained and ready to help assist the DVM with these cases from start to finish.  

Our services include advanced surgical techniques such as:

  • Femoral Head Osteotomy (canine and Feline) 

  • Patella luxation surgery (Unilateral and Bilateral) 

  • Spinal Surgery (IVDD)  

  • TPLO (Tibial Plateau levelling osteotomy) 

  • Fracture repairs - Simple and Complicated with hardware 

  • Osteochondritis Dissecans-OCD 

  • Ulnar Osteotomy (unilateral and Bilateral) 

  • Fractured Coronoid Process-FCP 

 
You will be joining the orthopedic team of: 
 
Dr. Francis Arsenault, Medical Director, has been dedicated to the profession of Veterinary Medicine for the past 45 years where he was instrumental in turning Riverview into a sprawling 24 hour Hybrid Emergency and Referral Center. As the Medical Director, he oversees all medical aspects of the hospital, including the Orthopedic department that he started over 20 years ago. Dr. Arsenault's continuing education and training in Orthopedics is extensive, which has allowed Riverview Animal Hospital to become one of the most trusted Referral hospitals for Orthopedics in Atlantic Canada. Dr. Arsenault additionally dedicates time to Veterinarians throughout the maritimes that are interested in practical training in the area of orthopedics.  

Growing up in rural New Brunswick, his love of animals began early where he began working on farms teaching him that hard work starts early and the work is not done until the job is complete. In his spare time, you can find Dr. Arsenault at the hockey rinks of NB. 

Dr. Lethan Dwan, Associate Veterinarian with the Riverview Animal Health Centre since 2017, has a solid academic background in veterinary medicine: advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, additional training in Advanced Spinal Surgery, Small and Micro Animal Orthopedic Surgical and Advanced Surgical Oncology. Originally from Scotland, he relocated to Moncton, New Brunswick with his family to gain experience working in a small animal practice. This led to him pursuing his interest in surgery and orthopedics at our hospital, where he is now well regarded in the Greater Moncton community and surrounding areas.
