We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join the dedicated, forward-thinking Accounting team in our downtown Toronto office.

 

ACCOUNTING CLERK – TORONTO

 

As part of the accounting team, the accounting clerk will report to the accounting manager and be primarily responsible for processing and reconciling accounts payable. Other duties will include preparation of daily bank deposits, filing, totaling, entering, and verifying transactions, and other related duties.

 

As an integral member of the team, you will bring:

 

  • Solid knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Efficiency working as a part of a team, or independently, as required.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills in all areas of work.
  • High level of personal integrity, strong work ethic and initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to adapt to and learn new software.

 

Accountabilities:

 

  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and claims, via preparation of cheques, EFT and ACH payments.
  • Assist with account reconciliations.
  • Provide assistance and support to company personnel.
  • Assist with month-end reporting processes for the company.
  • Assist with expense analysis.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and analysis to support business initiatives as required
  • Respond to vendor/customer inquiries and maintain good vendor/customer relations as require.
  • Administrative and other duties as required.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of BComm or a University degree with an accounting focus.
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in accounting or related field.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
  • NetSuite experience is an asset.
