Job Description:

In your position as a Supply Competitive Contest Coach, your duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for substituting the competitive contest team coach.

• [Grades 9 to 12] Conducting coaching in-person sessions. 

• [Grades 3 to 8] Conducting virtual coaching sessions. 

• Facilitating students to solve problems through diverse problem-solving strategies. 

• Coaching students to solve problems using diverse problem-solving strategies. 

• Assessing students’ abilities and adjusting sessions accordingly. 

• Other tasks as needed.

Education:  

• B.Sc. (or equivalent), or  

• Spirit of Math (SoM) Assistant Teacher Alumni, or 

• Current undergraduate student in mathematics (or equivalent) with multiple honour roll certificates in a variety of math contests.  

Skilled Knowledge & Experience: 

This individual has: 

• A strong background in mathematics, with a proven understanding of high school, and advanced math concepts, up to first year university concepts.  

• Experience with participating in math contest, math circles, creating math contests, or organizing contests. 

• Experience with teaching, tutoring, or coaching students. 

• Confidence with the use of technology, especially the Microsoft Office Suite.  

• Language proficiency in English.
