**Please note this is an in-person position. In addition to a leadership role, this individual will be teaching a minimum on one class per week**

Job Description:

The Vice Principal is the pro-active leader who maintains administrative and education standards of a campus during their leadership time and actively teaches during specifically designated campus times.

An energetic, positive, pro-active person who likes to engage and mentor people. This individual has a passion for student success and enjoys speaking with clients. This confident person is highly competitive and enjoys mental challenges involving solving problems. They are a self-starter driven to make the best ideas a reality and appreciate a venturesome work environment. The ideal candidate can work well independently and with others. 

Skilled Knowledge & Experience:             

a)            Leadership experience and a background in an education setting.

b)            Proven management experience, preferably in the educational sector, or Spirit of Math/Spirit of English/Spirit of Technology role for 1 or more years

c)            Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

d)            Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and tasks

e)            Strong organizational and time management skills

f)             Solid verbal and written skills

g)            Mentoring and relationship building skills and experience

h)            Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

i)             Excellent knowledge and practical expertise in MS Office


A degree from a recognized university is required. A Bachelor of Education is an asset, but not necessary.


The Vice Principal reports to the Campus Director of the territory and has the following responsibilities:

General Responsibilities:

a)            Comply with and maintain SoM brand and teaching standards.

b)            Comply to SoM policies and procedures.

c)            Work with the teachers to lead and conduct any campus events.

d)            Create an encouraging and engaging learning environment.

e)            Attend all annual Training Conferences, Regional Workshops, and any mandatory SoM events.

Communication, People and Culture

d)            Interact, communicate and create a strong community with teachers, parents, and students on a continual basis including welcoming students.

e)            Monitor the health and safety of personnel at the campus.

f)             Address any issues identified by parents and teachers in a professional and timely manner.

g)            Answer emails and phone calls.

h)            Help to arrange make-up and transfers of students.

i)             Have weekly meetings with their manager and their campus team to maintain strong communication and to ensure a strong working relationship.

j)             Assist with performance reviews for campus staff

k)            Create and conduct a student-recognition program.

l)             Create monthly newsletters.

Facilities, Resources and Campus Safety

c)            Maintain and provide necessary campus and classroom resources and inventory for staff.

d)            Maintain the campus facility while at the campus, fix problems as they happen and report any big problems immediately to the appropriate department.

e)            Opening and closing the campus facilities each day the campus is running.

f)             Respond to security alarms sent from the campus.

g)            Campus safety and security.

Professional Development and Training

b)            Partake in Grade Specific Training/Meetings and Professional Development sessions to increase knowledge in the SoM curriculum that are scheduled on the day that they are working.

c)            Attend the annual SoM conference.

d)            Pass the grade specific knowledge testing each year for the grades they are teaching.

e)            Conduct assistant teacher training and assist in teacher training as needed.

f)             Ensure personal professional development is continued year after year

g)            Continual class assessments and support each night

Academic Responsibilities and Teaching

f)             Take all the responsibilities of teaching classes for the classes that the Vice Principal is teaching.

g)            Conduct daily huddles with the teachers after the campus sessions are over.

h)            Conduct parent sessions and support teachers who conduct a parent session.

i)             Mentor teachers, administrators, and assistant teachers.

j)             Substitute teach as necessary.

k)            Monitor and report student performance as needed.

l)             Oversee yearly student promotions.

m)          Review report card comments for the campus teachers.

Administrative Responsibilities

c)            Submit expense reports as needed for expenses paid out for the campus.

d)            Request supplies from HQ and order directly as needed.

e)            Report any damage to the appropriate manager and help to fix any damage that occurs.

f)             Ensure all student files (registration and payment information) are kept up to date and in a secure location and coordinate with the Campus Team.

g)            Interview, screen, accept, and register new students.

h)            Ensure that there is proficiency in the various technology platforms of the company.

i)             Plan and facilitate the administration of summer camps.

j)             Do the printing for summer camps.

Events, Sales, and Marketing

b)            Assist with marketing events as needed.

c)            Follow-up with leads and opportunities

Other responsibilities for running the campus, as needed.
