Summary:

The Full-Stack Software Developer position will be responsible for developing the software components that build on top of the Smile Digital Health product. The team focuses on customer specific requirements in a scalable solution model. This role will work in an Agile environment with 2 week sprints.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of the approach, scope, milestones, and solution design for all assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with the development team to Implement solutions, including but not limited to, writing code, configuring external components and prototyping new technology.
  • Write manageable code and unit tests and create relevant documentation.
  • Lead client engagement meetings, when required.
  • Remain acutely aware of all priorities, deadlines, and backlogs to positively coach and assist the team in completing the required project tasks.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of the functionality being developed to provide support to the team.
  • Participate in in-depth in-person code reviews, pair-programming and collaborative problem analysis.
  • Participate in monthly Technology meetings to help guide corporate technical processes, architecture, and strategy.
  • Mentor other developers and provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Analyze and evaluate requirements and propose high level design and technical solutions at all stages of development
  • Work closely with all areas of the business to gather product requirements and design, implement and test components of the system.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all working hours are accurately reported in Netsuite on a daily or weekly basis, that the majority of (if not all) hours are tracked as billable and that the project management tool in Netsuite is properly and fully utilized. 
  • Tracking and reporting of billable hours is a critical aspect of project management and delivery to our customers and this is a major area of accountability.
  • Comply with the privacy, security and confidentiality policies. 

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in software development with technologies like  Angular/Javascript/Typescript, HTML and CSS.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with back-end technologies like Java and Spring development
  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Engineering, IT, Healthcare or related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • Previously demonstrated experience with NodeJS/NestJS.
  • Strong ability to build apps using Angular and having thorough understanding of core concepts like state management/observables/interceptors routing etc.
  • Previous experience developing Spring (boot) applications using Hibernate/SQL/IoC/HTTP/Rest APis etc. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and/or external clients to develop features.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, docker containers and networking.
  • Experience with mobile development solutions like Swift/Cordova.
  • Experience with cloud configuration and deployments like AWS/Azure or Google cloud, preferred.
  • Experience with NginX, Postman, Apache Camel, Insomnia, Gitlab CI, MongoDB, PostgresQL, Azure B2C, AWS Cognito, SSO OIDC, Slack, Google Tech, Jira, Gitlab, Figma, preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare standards like HL7 and FHIR, preferred.

Salary Range - $105-130K CAD
