The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Intermediate Project Manager to lead the execution of our Forestry Management Projects from initiation to closure. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills, with a strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile Hybrid methodologies and familiarity with the natural resources field in a professional services setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and meeting customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate and lead project teams, including setting goals, objectives, and expectations.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, developing and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Communicate project status, progress, and changes to stakeholders, including team members, sponsors, and customers.
  • Ensure effective resource allocation, prioritization, and utilization.
  • Monitor and report on project performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with business unit managers, project sponsors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and iterative development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Geography, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP (desirable but not required).
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working in hybrid project environments that combine Agile and traditional project management approaches.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Certification in specific industry domains (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, ITIL) or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Professional Forester, GISP).
  • Experience with project management software such as Jira and Microsoft Planner.
  • Knowledge of hybrid project management tools and techniques, including Lean, Kanban, and Scrum.
