Pond Inlet - Security Guard

QC – Scarlet Security Services Ltd., a division of the Scarlet Group of Companies, is seeking full-time or part-time Security Guards to join our team in Pond Inlet, NU. This position provides a great way to help the community and develop your personal growth in the security industry.

Successful applicants will provide security services to the local community health centre. The general responsibilities will include, but are not limited to access control, patrolling, reporting writing and enforcing the property policies.

Job Description

• Access control

• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property

• Monitoring surveillance equipment and activities

• Inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points for damage or forced entry

• Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building/equipment controls. • Alarm system response

• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities to the supervisor

• Enforcing property policy and procedures

• Complete reports by recording observations, information, and occurrences

• Interviewing witnesses and obtaining signatures

• Liaise with local RCMP for any escalated incidence or emergencies

• Maintain organisation's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.

• Contribute to team effort to ensure the safety of all staff and co-workers

Qualifications

• Resident of Pond Inlet, NU

• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Basic to Intermediate computer and reporting skills

• Ability to understand and comply with site specific Post Orders

• Should be driven by customer and personal service

• Ability to work in teams or partnerships

• A willingness to submit to a negative alcohol and drug test

• A willingness to complete a clean criminal record check

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a security guard considered an asset

• Standard First Aid - CPR C & AED or willingness to obtain the certificate

• Willingness to work either day or night shifts

Additional Information

Salary: Leads - $17/hour

Full Uniform is provided including all required PPE Schedule: 8 or 12 hour shifts
