RVA is seeking motivated engineering students to join our dynamic teams in Water and Wastewater/Environmental and Mechanical Engineering. We offer flexible contract opportunities ranging from 4,8,12 and 16 months, starting in Winter 2024 or Spring 2025. If you're ready to contribute to impactful projects and gain hands-on experience, we want to hear from you!

Duties:

  • Assist in studies and Class EAs for water and wastewater projects.
  • Organize/prepare conceptual, preliminary and final process design of:
  • Water Treatment Plants and Wastewater Treatment Plants
  • Water and Wastewater Pumping Stations
  • Reservoirs, Inground and Elevated
  • Intakes and Outfalls
  • Help prepare AutoCAD design drawings
  • Site inspection and Contract Administration, as required
  • Provides office support during the construction stage of projects
  • Assist with quantity calculations and preparing tender documents
  • Assist in the design and CAD / BIM Modelling of building mechanical systems, air emission, acoustic studies, computational fluid dynamics modelling.
  • Aid in calculation of heating and cooling loads, HVAC and Plumbing design and modelling pump design and selection.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • The candidate must be currently enrolled as a third- or fourth-year student in the Civil/Environmental or Mechanical Engineering program.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/MicroStation/Civil3D/Biowin is an asset.
  • Demonstrates superior communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in an interactive team atmosphere.
  • Must have a valid G Class Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.
