RVA is looking for an experienced professional Engineer to manage the Water Resources group. A successful candidate should have prior organizational managerial experience, be able to collaborate with different stakeholders and team members and be a strategic problem-solver.

 

Duties:

    Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Manage a team of Water Resources professionals including hiring, performance management, coaching, and mentoring for various projects and studies.
  • Manage tasks, team, schedules, budgets, cost control processes and project work procedures. Identify and manage project issues and risks and, if needed, enhance resolution or actions; collaborate with other offices across Canada.
  • Work in a team environment on variety of projects that would include model build and verification (with existing or new models) to assess system performance and use the model to develop solutions and strategies for improvement.
  • Support various groups across the company with strategies for the sustainable use of water resources and develop models to determine sound solutions for various private and municipal projects and clients.
  • Ensure projects meet the professional needs of RVA and Quality standards and participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Support with proposal development, planning projects and preparation of cost estimates for modelling and associated engineering works.
  • Lead and contribute to Environmental Assessments (EAs), Master Plans and Secondary Plans projects/studies for various municipalities in Ontario.
  • Liaise with client, suppliers, regulatory agencies, utility companies and contractors; represent RVA in professional associations and agencies.
  • Administrative duties as allocated including financial and staff management, staff development and mentoring.
  • Other duties as assigned and appropriate for this position.

 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a University degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental or Chemical Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Must be a licensed Engineer within the province of Ontario
  • 15 years of experience in a managerial or similar role.
  • Strong people management, communication, and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with water regulatory frameworks and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, EPANET, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience and strong technical background in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, and water quality are required.
  • Superior English communication skills both oral and written
  • Possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
