This team is responsible for providing comprehensive engineering services and support for Redlen’s in-house production test systems. This role is crucial in designing test hardware, maintaining production equipment, troubleshooting issues, and conducting user training to ensure a robust and reliable test system infrastructure.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Test System Design: Develop and design test systems tailored to meet high-volume manufacturing needs.
  • Documentation and Setup: Create configuration documents and setup instructions for specific test systems.
  • Production Support: Provide complete packages and work instructions for production operators, ensuring seamless integration and maintenance of test systems.
  • Technical Assistance: Offer ongoing technical support for production and assist with the deployment of new test infrastructure and technology processes, from initial prototypes to standard production.
    • Contribute to scaling up and expanding characterization and testing capabilities, including automation and troubleshooting for x-ray and gamma-ray applications.
    • Develop and debug test system software and firmware.
    • Design circuits and layout PCBs for production equipment.
    • Collect and analyze data from the production database, summarizing results in comprehensive reports.
    • Assist in various R&D experiments related to materials and devices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • 3 - 7 years of industry experience in a similar role, with preference for those with at least 5 years
  • Experience with designing and validating electromechanical prototypes.
  • Experience in mechatronics and automation.
  • Strong understanding of mixed-signal electronic circuitry, particularly for embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer.
  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Skilled in hand-soldering circuit boards, including fine-pitch (0.4mm) connectors and small (0402) surface mount components.
  • Competence in collecting and interpreting production data.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as JMP and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of measurement instruments such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, and spectrum analyzers is required.

Education
  • A degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Salary Range: $87,000 - $105,000 CAD
