Our Verification and Validation (V&V) team includes Detector Product Engineers who support our delivery of world-leading photon-counting detector technology to major system OEMs for photon-counting computed tomography (PCCT). In this position you will have a hands-on role in ensuring we fully understand our detector performance. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Product Verification:
    • Execute robust product verification plans, including data acquisition, processing, and reporting activities, including best practices like compliance matrices referred to product requirements documentation.
    • Support the specification of hardware and software requirements for verification and validation activities, ensuring comprehensive testing coverage.  
    • Participate in design reviews with external teams/customers, providing input on verification and testability across all design maturity stages.
  • Production Validation and Application Engineering:
    • Support test planning and execute test plans to establish correlations between in-system CT performance and detector specifications, optimizing x-ray test protocols for accuracy.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Support root cause determination efforts for test failures where appropriate, or when coming from customer failure reports, collaborating with the reliability team where a product failure occurred after shipment.
    • Utilize advanced data analysis capability to support failure mode analysis and product reliability programs.
  • Others:
    • Ensure quality in all work produced; use appropriate best practices to ensure this is achieved.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and QA, to ensure integration of verification and validation processes throughout the product development process.
    • Participate in customer meetings and support activities, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach.
    • Strong communication skills in English

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of product verification, validation and/or test system development experience.
  • Requirements management experience including interfacing with design teams and customers, and traceability of verification.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to apply statistical tools, such as JMP, to solve practical problems.
  • Experience with data analysis using MATLAB, Python, or similar software.
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience verifying complex hardware, software, or firmware environments; experience with detection or instrumentation products.
  • Experience in mixed-signal electronic device testing and/or design, especially if it includes mixed-signal ASIC experience.
  • Hands-on experience in testing x-ray detectors, or semiconductor devices.
  • Working knowledge of product development and validation in ISO9001 and/or ISO13485 environments.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems or electrical engineering, engineering physics, physics, biophysics, or equivalent is required.

Salary Range: $85,000-130,000 CAD

This range spans intermediate and senior engineering levels for the Victoria employment market.
