Position Summary
The Human Resources Partner Team Lead (HRPTL) works with the HR Leadership Team and key stakeholders to create, develop and implement effective organization-wide human resources initiatives, polices and processes. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources & Labour Relations, the HRPTL provides advice and guidance to the senior management pertaining to the interpretation and administration of the RainCity Housing's various collective agreements, policies and procedures, and employment agreements. The Team Lead directs and oversees the work of the Human Resources Business Partners, coaching and mentoring the team, and building on their capacity to effectively deliver on program goals to ensure service delivery is cohesive, efficient, and aligned with the program model.

 

The Team Lead creates collaborative relationships with, and becomes a trusted advisor to, program leadership teams, in the areas of labour relations (including employee discipline), human rights, accommodation, workplace investigations. settlement negotiations, classifications and exclusions, employee privacy, disability management, and return-to-work. In addition, they maintain advanced and up-to date industry knowledge on best practices in all human resource and labour relations matters, as well as supervise Human Resources Business Partners and participate in their evaluation.

Hours: 80 hours bi-weekly
Hourly Range: $90,000 - $100,000 annually   
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 09:00am - 05:00pm.
Start Date: As soon as possible.

Qualifications
Our mission is to advance social equity by building upon the strengths of our community and of each individual. We are looking for employees who will be dedicated to helping fulfill our mission. Many forms of education and experience are valued, including volunteering, and lived experience of mental health/substance use/homelessness. Minimum education and experience include:

  • A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. 
  • CPHR designation preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in HR, labour relations and/or disability management, including a minimum of 2 years of complex labour relations experience. 
  • Working knowledge of applicable legislation and recent developments in workplace law  
  • Strong advocacy and negotiations skills
  • Advanced-level knowledge of human resources, labour relations and disability management principles and practices. 
  • Non-profit experience is preferred. 
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office and HRIS. 
  • Class 5 driver’s license. 
  • Ability to understand, communicate and support the mission and values of RainCity Housing, and the models/methods of supporting clients including the principles of Housing First and Harm Reduction.
