What’s it like working as a Senior Data Analyst?

Flexiti Financial is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Reporting & Analytics team. This individual will be the key person for consulting with the business to understand its goals and objectives, processes, and requirements. They will play a key role in driving data driven decision making across the organization. They will be responsible for building new reports, as well as supporting the Account Management / Product teams in all their analytics needs. They will be responsible for identifying problem statement, underlying trends & providing strategic insights to the business.

A successful candidate for this role should not just be technically strong but should also be able to translate data into insights. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Analytics & Reporting (Business Analytics), the Senior Data Analyst will know what’s really hiding in data; allowing for clearer insight, a better decision, a competitive advantage and most importantly, the success of our business, our retail partners and our customers. •    Data Analysis & Reporting: Understanding business needs of retail partners / product managers to create relevant analysis & reports.

•    Performance Monitoring: Track & report on KPIs & proactively discussing the emerging trends along with recommendations to the key stakeholders.

•    Insights Presentations: Analyze larger datasets to identify business insights, trends and prepare presentation of insights & actionable recommendations.

•    Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Account Managers, Product Managers, Finance, Sales Ops teams to understand the pulse of the business & to ensure that data driven approach is embedded across departments.

 

So are YOU our next Senior Data Analyst? You are if you have...

•    3+ years of experience in reporting, analysis, insights and strategy development in the financial services industry.

•    Proven experience using SQL to perform queries to analyze, extract and validate data •    Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SSRS, Python, R

•    Proven ability to effectively analyze and interpret large amounts of raw data to accurately convey business need.

•    Demonstrated ability to identify issues of a complex nature and effectively resolve

•    Strong working knowledge in presenting quantitative data via PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.

•    Experience in storytelling based on the data & insights.

•    Ability to adjust to fluctuating work load with the pressure of aggressive deadlines

•    Solid knowledge of financial services industry and the products and services related to consumer credit (Risk, Analytics, or Marketing)

•    Proficiency with Microsoft Suite

Soft Skills:

•    Someone who likes to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty; but is happy to work independently

•    Experience managing a team, or mentoring analysts

•    Strong Excel skills are required (ability to build from scratch comprehensive and flexible reporting templates)

•    Excellent communicator with strong oral and written communication skills required to effectively and concisely present key findings to senior management and other team members.

•    Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills

•    Strong work ethic, curious and persistent determination in reviewing and reconciling variances •    Are highly organized and detail-oriented and can initiate proactively

•    Desire to take full ownership of deliverables and be accountable for results

•    Ability to produce deliverables accurately and on time with minimal supervision

•    Ability to draw conclusions and provide explanations and make recommendations based on analysis

•    Willingness and ability to continually improve processes and document procedures for producing deliverables

•    Bonus – Earned experience developing technology products in an award-winning Fintech ‘startup’
