We’re looking for our next Manager, Creative Copy. Could It Be You?

The Manager, Creative Copy is a leadership position within the internal creative agency and is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of all marketing content, ensuring that it is compelling, engaging, and consistent with the company's brand personality and identity. The ideal candidate will act as an Associate Creative Director, building out the agency's copy function and have a proven track record of success in leading creative teams and delivering results. They will be a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of marketing principles and a passion for writing. They will play a critical, hands-on role in shaping the company's marketing voice and driving growth.

  • Lead and manage a team of copywriters, editors, and content strategists.

  • Through clear direction and constructive feedback, provide much-needed mentorship and support in bringing together the creative team. 

  • Oversee the creative copy process, ensuring thoughtful, considered work that delivers against wider business OKR’s.

  • Brings knowledge of product, market & position to ensure sound strategic planning, timely & accurate implementation

  • Possesses the ability to take abstract concepts and empower teams to create cutting-edge concepts that are user-friendly, representative of the journey’s goals, and within brand guidelines

  • Collaborate with cross-discipline leads to develop and recommend advertising initiatives to meet the journey’s marketing strategies and objectives across the enterprise

  • Contributes innovative ideas appropriate to the client’s marketing strategy that challenge the status quo

  • Hire and develop the Copy team, continually looking for ways to mentor and improve their outputs.

  • Identify and develop new talent to ensure the team has the skills and expertise needed to meet the company's evolving marketing needs.

  • Develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with the company's marketing goals and objectives.

  • Oversee the creation of all marketing copy, including website content, advertising copy, email marketing, social media posts, and other materials.

  • Ensure that all copy is consistent with the company's brand voice, tone, and messaging.

  • Edit and proofread all copy for accuracy, clarity, and grammar.

  • Collaborate with other marketing team members, including the design lead, and product managers, to develop and execute marketing campaigns.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest marketing trends and best practices.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment where team members feel supported and empowered to do their best work.

  • Establish new ways of thinking and working, never being afraid to test and learn.

  • Shape and execute the agreed strategy for product & marketing copy across the brand and play a pivotal role in creating seamless, consistent and engaging end-to-end customer experiences.

  • Be seen as a senior point of contact throughout the strategic and creative process, providing well informed and timely input at all project stages.

  • Develop strong trust-based partnerships with internal stakeholders, acting as an ambassador for the creative credibility and process of the copy team.

  • Act as a champion for the role of copy in benefiting the business and create a markable differentiator.

  • Build and develop a creative culture: one that fires the imagination of all stakeholders and infuses the entire company.

  • Bachelor's degree in English, communications, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in copywriting, with a focus on marketing.

  • 10+ years of copywriting experience in an agency or in-house setting delivering stand-out creative work on campaigns across a variety of digital and traditional touch-points

  • 5+ years of experience as an Associate Creative Director or Group Copy Lead leading an agency or in-house team

  • Experience driving creative alignment with leadership and stakeholders

  • Proven track record of success in leading creative teams and delivering results.

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, best practices, and trends.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment with multiple different stakeholders and regulatory requirements

  • Passion for writing and a commitment to excellence.

  • Highly imaginative hands-on, creative thinker and storyteller

  • Charismatic, authoritative, and persuasive; able to represent the core idea internally in meetings

  • Has a strong awareness and understanding of strategy, branding, and interactive communications across different media

  • Problem solver, logical thinker with meticulous attention to detail
