We’re looking for our next Senior Front-End Engineer. Could It Be You?

The Senior Front End Engineer will be involved in the development of functionally rich, robust and user friendly web applications, following through all stages of the Agile software development life cycle from inception to implementation. The developer will collaborate on a cross functional team including UX Design, QA and Back-End developers and will collaborate with other Front-End Engineers in the growth of best practices and technological advancements. The ideal candidate for this role should be able to thrive in dynamic environments, have a strong work ethic, positive energy and the ability to innovate.

What’s it like working as an Senior Front End Engineer at Questrade?

You will be responsible for:

Developing, testing, debugging standards-compliant, cross-browser compatible web applications
Enhancing and modifying existing applications as needed to ensure add new features or improve user-experience
Diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with existing applications
Interacting and communicating with designers, developers, QA testers, copywriters, product owners and others in order to understand requirements and scope of work
Playing active role in defining and implementing best practices, standards and procedures including quality and delivery methodologies
Helping the team to estimate work efforts for user stories, including determining requirements, dependencies and risks
Supporting the team in technical decisions and development estimates
Conducting research and developing proof of concepts
Participating in and contribute to all Agile Scrum ceremonies

So are YOU our next Senior Front End Engineer? You are if you have…

To succeed, in this role, you will need:

A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science or other related field
A solid knowledge and experience with JavaScript, Typescript, HTML5, CSS preprocessors such as SASS, LESS, webpack, Jest
Strong experience Angular 7+
Knowledge of JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, React,
A solid understanding object-oriented programming (OOP)
Knowledge of unit testing (testing framework: Jest)
Experienced with version control systems such as Git
Knowledge of Agile (preferably SCRUM) development practices

We’re looking for someone with:

Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
A service-oriented mindset, positive attitude and a willingness to assist their team in any way to ensure project success
A strong commitment to upgrading technical skills on an ongoing basis and a willingness to share their knowledge with others
The ability to take initiative and get things done.
