Job type: Full-time, permanent, graveyard shift (the shift starts at 9:30 pm and finishes at 6:00 am)

Expected salary: $38.14 per hour

We’re looking for an Industrial Electrician to join our Maintenance team based in in Vancouver, BC. This individual will report to the Engineering and Maintenance manager.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain, repair, rebuild, or install any production or other equipment and fixtures within the boundary of your certification, utilizing appropriate hand tools, shop tools, or equipment.
  • Apply your required knowledge and experience in preventive maintenance and provide technical support and decision-making during breakdown situations.
  • Provide electrical services for new machinery in accordance with codes and standards.
  • Write reports detailing the work required for repairs and maintenance.
  • Communicate with production supervisors to schedule machine downtime for major repairs.
  • Analyze and interpret building drawings, technical literature, and equipment specifications.
  • Organize and maintain spare parts inventories under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Complete work orders, meticulously documenting the time spent and parts used according to established procedures.
  • Carry out responsibilities identified in the Purdy's Quality Management System, including required documentation and quality checks.
  • Comply with all company GMP’s, safety policies, accident prevention measures, and compliance programs; actively reviewing work areas for potential issues that could result in losses and reporting injuries and hazards.

You will be a good fit if you have:

  • Electrician ticket
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English
  • 1-2 years of experience working on food processing equipment
  • Good understanding of AC and DC motors
  • Excellent knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), servo motors and servo drives
  • Ability to create neat accurate and legible reports
  • Ability to enter data into the computer/CMMS System
