POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Reporting to the Planning Manager, the incumbent is responsible for developing and enhancing the existing forecast accuracy metrics, consensus planning process and S&OP cadence for the Polytainers organization.  This role will play a key role in improving current processes and WOW while also being instrumental in designing and executing the demand planning function within the future state SAP ERP transformation.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:

 

  • Generate volume forecast through executing the demand planning components of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and analysis of data.
  • Facilitate cross-functional agreement of volume forecasts
  • Consolidate the forecast components across the full 12 month horizon, sense-checking values and assumptions to validate the unconstrained demand plan.
  • Highlight risks and opportunities in sales volume based on statistical analysis, activity evaluations and other market intelligence.
  • Provide analysis and input into capacity plan and recommend CAPEX required to ensure service, growth and cost objectives are met in annual budgeting process.
  • Monitor and manage forecast accuracy KPIs and drive improvement through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Participate in the Demand & Supply Reconciliation Meetings as part of the S&OP process
  • Coordinate management of sku transitions, slow moving and obsolete goods and highlight risks associated with customer/item demand.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

Educational Requirements: BS/BA degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or related field

Minimum Experience/Field: 2 years experience in Planning, Forecasting, Scheduling and/or S&OP in a fast paced, high volume, Lean Manufacturing, environment. Experience in injection molded plastics and/or food packaging industry make to order business would be an asset.

Computer Skills: Strong PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and MRP/ERP systems.

Communication Skills: Proven track record working with people and problem resolution and strong interpersonal, collaboration skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the strong influencing and negotiation capability.

Additional Education/Experience/Skills: Experience with SAP and APICS or other related certifications would be an asset.
