The CMM programmer is an interim contract position for the purpose of completing the programming of all currently produced containers to ensure that the machine can reliably measure product characteristics with repeatable and reproducible results. In addition to programming the contract may include training of lab personnel and development of training documentation, implementation of software, hardware and fixturing improvements to facilitate efficient use of the equipment.

CMM Programming

  • Complete programming of all currently produced Polytainers containers (~160 items) and lids (~60 items) on Hexagon 4.5.4 shop floor CMM machine in PC-DMIS for the purpose of measuring key product dimensions.
  • Container dimensions to be measured include (but are not limited to): Outer diameter, Skirt Diameter, Step Diameter, Bottom Diameter, Stack Height, Total Height, Wall thicknesses.
  • Lid Dimensions to be measured, include (but are not limited to): Toe-in, Panel thickness, skirt thickness, Inside contact diameter, outside contact diameter, top diameter, bottom diameter, stack ring diameter, total height, stack height, stack ring height.
  • Complete Gauge R and R for measuring above dimensions on 3 different sample cups and lids.
  • Develop automatic calibration program for verification of various styli located on a tool changer.
  • Work with design team to develop fixturing for various products to measure the optimal number parts at a time depending on the working envelope.
  • Create a listing of all articles and corresponding dimensions. Create project plan with milestones for completing the programming of listed articles and corresponding dimensions. Track and present progress against the milestones on a weekly basis and if timing slips, provide recovery plans.
  • Maintain file organized file structure and file nomenclature for programs.
