Lift Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance, under the direction of the Director of Resort Operations, will oversee and coordinate all maintenance aspects for the Resort Lift Systems. The logistical aspects of departmental programs such as special projects and ongoing maintenance of computer systems pertaining to the various mountain operations departments. The Lift Maintenance Manager must possess the ability to adapt to new technology and the ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.

 

Job Duties

  • Preparation of department maintenance budgets,
  • Complete timelines for maintenance functions following manufacture and Panorama Mountain Resort procedures and recommendations
  • Complete analysis of specific maintenance functions and implement recommendations and improvements on process’s that we use. 
  • Operate within the approved budget
  • Ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of lift services
  • Ensuring that the environmental performance of the operations meets or exceeds all relevant standards
  • Managing financial performance, revenue, and cost management
  • Support all aspects Lift Operations
  • Provide internal information technology support, software updates, and hardware maintenance pertaining to our lift systems.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to employees.
  • Analyze complex business needs presented by the user community and/or customers/clients and recommend technical solutions.
  • Evaluate hardware and software to ensure that it meets company requirements.
  • Stay informed on new or emerging trends and technologies that provide clear benefits to the resort.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools.
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  • Assist in the resolution of design issues, change requests, material defects, and equipment problems.
  • Assist with jobsite administration duties, such as daily logs that need to be maintained.
  • Aid in technical projects to ensure compliance with design, project specifications, regulations, and safety codes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely project close date; help supervisors to adjust working schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Inform supervisor of the need to order materials as required.
  • Adhere to company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency.
  • Adhere to established safe working procedures and always wear the proper safety equipment.
  • Assess and document the requirements of end-users.

 

Job Requirements

  • Journeyperson certification as an Industrial Mechanic or Electrician (or equivalent experience)
  • Previous experience working with maintenance of various types of aerial ropeway equipment.
  • Knowledge of Ski lifts operations and maintenance requirements.
  • Industrial equipment repairs an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical members of the organization both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated time management skills & ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
  • Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various project and maintenance processes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings, and plans.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
