Position Type:     Permanent, 40 hours per week

Department Overview
The Corporate Services Team helps to meet the needs of P2C  regarding building maintenance/improvements, space utilization, space planning/set-up, equipment maintenance/procurement, supplies restocking, incoming and outgoing mail/courier, insurance, storage configuration, reception, and executing facility space rentals.

Position Overview 
The ideal candidate enjoys a fast-paced environment with a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities, is able to exercise sound problem-solving skills, and can balance the demands of multiple priorities at any given time. The ideal candidate is an individual with 5+ years of experience in building maintenance, a heart of service, and a passion for the mission of Power to Change.


Key Responsibilities

Building Maintenance/Operations:

  • Conduct daily building inspections and ensure maintenance and repairs are performed daily, including lights, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, elevator, fire safety equipment, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of the premises and the overall cleanliness of the building including overseeing the restocking of supplies .
  • Manage building security, access card administration, and all necessary key management for the building.
  • Handle workstations, conference rooms and meetings configuration and setup requests and facilitate internal office moves.

Space/Meeting Room Rental Coordination

  • Support the booking, set up, execution, and clean up for internal and external events
  • Correspondence with rental inquiries and completion of rental agreements and provide basic Audio/Visual, soundboard,  and tech support (liaising with our IT provider)


Warehouse Maintenance:

  • Ensure a clean and safe warehouse environment, including shipping, receiving, and inventory/storage volumes management.
  • Organize storage spaces and conduct inspections of facilities and equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance on forklifts and provide operational support to PTC Staff
  • Monitor warehouse usage and update internal leases as needed

Postal Operations:

  • Manage and process outgoing mail (using Pitney Bowes) and parcels (using Freightcom)
  • Order supplies related to postal operations
  • Prepare end-of-month reports 

Other:

  • Act  as backup for building alarm calls 24/7 (personal cell phone provided and paid for by P2C)
  • Participate in P2C health and safety committee and act as  as first aid attendants
  • Provide and coordinate  building orientation for new staff and tour for visitors
  • Coordinate insurance certificate applications and issuance for external events related to P2C
  • Attendance and participation in the bi-annual International Day of Prayer.
  • Special projects as assigned by the Corporate Services Manager.


Required Education & Experience

  • Completion of High School Education
  • At least 5+ years of experience in building maintenance
  • Experience with forklifts ( considered an asset - certification can be paid for by P2C)
  • Maintain an active first aid certification (course paid for by P2C)

  • You have experience in facilities maintenance (considered an asset).
  • You can prioritize tasks and stay organized.
  • You must be physically capable of handling some heavy lifting.
