Position:         Human Resources Generalist

Location:        Moncton, NB

The Responsibilities of this Position include: 

 

  • Responsible for supporting and managing the day-to-day HR operations of the Moncton, Saint John, Truro, and Halifax offices.
  • Collaborate closely with the payroll department to maintain accurate employee payroll and benefit details, administering employee updates and facilitating the onboarding and offboarding procedures via the HRIS system.
  • Lead and actively manage end-to-end recruitment activities, including creating and maintaining up-to-date job descriptions, as well as job posting, candidate sourcing, interviewing, selection, references, and onboarding.
  • Perform new hire orientations and work alongside hiring managers to ensure new employees are effectively integrated into the MCW work culture and environment.
  • Recommend and develop onboarding strategies to deliver an exceptional new hire experience.
  • Administer and educate employees on benefits program at MCW.
  • Manage and document all stages of the employee lifecycle maintaining accurate and confidential records in the HRIS system, generating reports as required.
  • Act as a welcoming and trusted point of contact for manager and employee inquiries, requests and concerns ensuring timely responses that adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Support and execute the annual performance management program.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects to optimize work processes and programs.
  • Ensure effective exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the national Human Resources team on diverse projects focused on aligning and enhancing communication of HR programs throughout the company.
  • Be an active member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee.  Implement and support appropriate occupational health and safety policies and programs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and create a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Manage, track, and assign various employee training programs.
  • Participate in organizing corporate meetings.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives and company social activities and events

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate has a Degree, Diploma, or certificate in Human Resources or other related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant HR working experience.
  • Certification in HR, (i.e..CPHR) or working towards would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of and exposure to all or some of the following human resources activities; recruitment, orientation, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, and employee communications.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable employment and health and safety legislation
  • Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems, specifically experience with Ceridian Dayforce is an asset.
  • Prior experience supporting employees across multiple locations would be considered an asset
  • Prior exposure to payroll and benefits would be a strong asset
  • A self-starter with a high degree of initiative.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle sensitive or private information with tact and discretion
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects with tight and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of staff, including Management and Executive.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
