The Role:  

 

We are actively seeking an experienced technical engineer with substantial infrastructure detailed design for our bridge team in the GTA. The bridge team works collaboratively with our divisional team across Ontario. 

 

This role presents a unique opportunity a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in Egis's growth, contributing to the exciting trajectory we are carving out in the region.  

 

The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills and attributes: 

 

  • Excellent technical experience and client-facing reputation working with the MTO, in a Technical Lead role. 

  • 20+ years of experience in structural engineering. 

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.). 

  • Engineer who has stamped three or more new bridges in Ontario, including multi-span. 

  • Demonstrate experience in preliminary and detail design work. 

  • Extensive experience of structural analysis software (Midas and CSiBridge). 

  • Strong business development skills. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

In the role of Senior Bridge Engineer, you will join a collaborative team comprised of junior, intermediate and seasoned professionals, all deeply committed to ensuring success. 

 

  • Produce and supervise the creation of engineering products on a wide variety of small to large bridge rehabilitation and new design projects from concept through construction that meet and exceed customer quality requirements. 

  • Prepare budgets and schedules, plan the work, and provide technical direction and oversight. 

  • Perform complex technical engineering tasks efficiently and accurately, technically leading and mentoring the bridge team. 

  • Check detailed engineering calculations and models, drawings, specifications, quantities and cost estimates, detailed technical reports, procurement. documents, design packages, proposals, and detailed analyses. 

  • Provide technical supports during construction and the review of contractor proposals. 

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines. 

  • Lead technical dialogue with clients and maintain working relationships with clients. 

  • Lead successful project pursuits and determine budget estimates, resource requirements. 

  • Manage project teams, control project budgets and schedules and quality control of deliverables.
