The Opportunity

 

McElhanney Ltd. is seeking a Project Manager with demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience being the Owner’s Representative managing buildings & facilities design and construction projects. You will join our diverse and growing Project Management Division which offers strategic project delivery for McElhanney’s clients. This position is well suited for a driven individual who wants to help clients achieve their vision and mentor others along the way.

 

The ideal individual has experience managing facilities design and construction projects for government clients and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and industry partners.  

 

Experience managing facilities design and construction is a requirement.

 

What You’ll Be Doing  

  • Working with multiple McElhanney clients, internal and external, with a focus on project management of buildings and facilities
  • Business development, writing proposals and meeting with current and potential clients  
  • Lead project delivery from initiation through to commissioning
  • Facilitate project team meetings and implement Project Management/Execution Plans
  • Mentoring and working with our assistant project managers, contract managers and administrators
  • Ensuring completion of quality assurance and quality control processes
  • Risk identification, analysis and mitigation
  • Public consultation and interested party engagement on behalf of our clients
  • Participate in consultation with Indigenous Groups
  • Work with multiple consultants (design, environmental, etc.), client staff, interested parties, third-party utilities to achieve the project goals
  • Short-term travel will be required from time to time

 

What You’ll Bring  

  • A degree or diploma in a related field, such as Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or other from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience in project management of buildings design and construction.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to build and manage relationships with numerous clients, consultants, and interested parties
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and maintaining the best interests of the client
  • Ability to work with various interested parties and Indigenous groups, respecting customs and culture
  • Experience managing facilities design and construction as the Owner’s Representative is a requirement
  • PMP or other PMI certification is an asset
  • Experience working with government clients is an asset
  • Advanced computer (Microsoft Office, MS Project, PowerPoint), technical writing and presentation skills

 

What Can We Offer You?

 

The salary range for this position is $91,520 - $135,200 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
