The Opportunity:  

McElhanney – Recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, has a rewarding opportunity for an individual to join our team as a Contract and Vendor Management Lead. This role is crucial in overseeing and optimizing our technology contracts, and licenses and effectively managing vendor relationships to ensure alignment with business goals, compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), and overall cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and vendor performance management, coupled with strong financial analytical and communication skills. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Contract Management: Oversee the end-to-end management of contracts, including drafting, negotiating, and finalizing agreements. Ensure all contracts are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors. Monitor and manage vendor performance to ensure adherence to SLAs and contractual obligations.
  • SLA Management: Develop, negotiate, and manage SLAs. Monitor performance metrics and ensure compliance with service levels. Address and resolve any issues or disputes that arise.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Implement strategies to optimize procurement costs and manage vendor expenses effectively. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and organized documentation of contracts, vendor agreements, and performance metrics. Prepare and present reports on vendor performance, contract status, and cost analysis.
  • Business Requirements Gathering experience.
  • Policy Development: Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to contract management and vendor relationships. Ensure consistent application of these policies across the organization.
  • Asset Management: Leverage asset management knowledge to manage the intersection of asset, contract, and vendor management, ensuring comprehensive oversight and control.

 

What You’ll Bring: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Around 10 years of experience in contract management, vendor management, and strategic sourcing, with a strong background in SLA management and performance optimization.
  • Certifications: Strategic Sourcing & Contract Management Certification or similar qualifications preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Contract Life-Cycle Management (CLMM) software, M365, and other relevant business tools.

  • Ability to prioritize the task and manage the time effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle technical and legal contract documents.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

The salary range for this position is 105,000 to 135,000 CAD /Annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
