The Opportunity

McElhanney has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Designer to join our growing team in Grande Prairie, AB. We are seeking a strong communicator who has excellent design skills and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D. As a true team player, you will have to the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on a variety of Highway Planning, Infrastructure Development, and Energy Servicing projects. What You’ll Be Doing

•    Contribute to the cost effective and timely production of engineering designs, including roadways, drainage and PipeWorks that meet all client and approval agency requirements and standards
•    Transform preliminary concepts and sketches into engineering designs, plans and project informational requirements, using primarily AutoCAD / Civil 3D, as well as other technical software as needed
•    Coordinate the preparation of drawings required for approvals, prepare development and construction cost estimates
•    Collaborate with team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved
•    Provide construction supervision and/or administration for municipal and land development projects

What You’ll Bring

•    Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution 
•    2+ years’ experience for applicants with a bachelor’s degree or 4+ years’ experience for applicants with a diploma
•    Currently registered, or qualified to register as a Technician / Technologist with ASET, or as an EIT or P.Eng with APEGA
•    Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D Software is essential; knowledge and experience with CAD/Mapping/GIS software is also an asset

What Can We Offer You

The salary range for this position is $79,040 - $111,280 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
