Junior Civil Engineer

The Opportunity

McElhanney Ltd. has an opportunity for a Junior Civil Engineer to join our team in Victoria, BC. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide innovative and integrated consulting services to our public and private sector clients. We value flexibility, giving you the opportunity to support a range of projects from road rehabilitation / reconstruction, municipal water and wastewater improvements to residential land development in a unique urban community. In addition, this position provides a mix of office and field work, providing you the opportunity to support projects in various capacities.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide design support for various infrastructure and land development projects including municipal engineering, road works, utility and facility upgrades using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist in the preparation of approval, tender and contract documents.
• Complete field inspections to monitor the quality and progress of the work being performed.
• Prepare and adhere to site-specific health and safety plans.
• Work with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality control standards are achieved and maintained.

What You'll Bring

• Familiarity working with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Relevant University degree in Civil Engineering.
• Related industry experience is an asset.
• Registration in good standing as a member in training or professional status in British Columbia, or immediately eligible to be registered.
• Construction related experience an asset.

What Can We Offer You?

The salary range for this position is $60,320 - $80,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
