Position Overview: 

 

As a Data Analyst specializing in finance, you will play a crucial role in extracting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data from various sources to support strategic decision-making and operational initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Operations, and Management to provide actionable insights and recommendations. You will also understand their data needs, design and develop reports and dashboards, and conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Extract, clean, and manipulate large datasets from multiple sources including financial databases, ERP systems, and spreadsheets.
  • Perform comprehensive analysis of financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Finance teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Conduct variance analysis and performance reporting to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of data collection systems and strategies to optimize efficiency and data quality.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and financial modeling.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst with a focus on financial data analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel, and statistical software (e.g., R, Python) preferred.
  • Experience working with financial databases and ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365, Chrome River, Blackline).
  • Solid understanding of financial principles and concepts (e.g., GAAP, financial statements).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field,
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., MicroStrategy).
