Senior Research Scientist (Quantum)

LG Toronto AI Lab is looking to push the boundaries of AI to build innovative product and service solutions to realize LG’s global vision for a connected world.

As a part of this initiative, LG has set up an Advanced AI organization in North America. To further this initiative, we are looking for a passionate and talented Research Scientist - Quantum for our Toronto AI Lab (located in downtown Toronto) to work closely with the global AI labs. You will leverage your Quantum Algorithm domain expertise to conduct novel research with goals to publish at top conferences, collaborate within LG and the external research community, and bridge fundamental theory towards LG’s existing and future products and technologies. 

Responsibilities

  1. Read, understand, implement, and improve state-of-the-art papers in quantum algorithms and machine learning
  2. Take ownership of projects and build proof-of-concepts (POCs) for future production and deployment purposes
  3. Research and develop advances in fault-tolerant quantum algorithms, quantum error correction and quantum simulations

 

Qualifications

  1.      PhD in Quantum Information, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  2. 5+ years of experience leading research projects and identifying research directions in academia or quantum industries
  3. Combination of industry and research experience with end-to-end quantum simulation development pipeline
  4. Recent contributions to research communities including publishing at top-tier journals and/or presenting at top conferences within the field of quantum computing
  5. Knowledge and experience with quantum software platforms like Qiskit, or Pennylane.
  6. Knowledge and experience with machine learning coding platforms like Tensor-flow, Pytorch etc. is an asset.
