As a Hydrogeologist at KCB, you will have the opportunity to work on large-scale, world-class projects. KCB’s continued growth will allow you to challenge and grow your hydrogeology skills while working with an experienced hydrogeology team. A technical role with our Geosciences team will provide you with the opportunity to work closely with other talented professionals committed to delivering high quality geoscience and engineering services.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead specialised groundwater studies, with focus on geological and hydrogeological interpretation and site conceptualisation, leading to specialised studies as projects dictate (including dewatering, aquifer injection, contaminant hydrogeology and development of groundwater management plans).
  • Undertake hydrogeological assessments including data collection, interpretation of field data, site investigation planning and co-ordination, assisting with aquifer conceptualisation, client and regulatory liaison and contribution to hydrogeological reports.
  • Supervise or lead predictive analytical/numerical studies), large structure (WRD/TSF) assessment and mitigation studies.
  • Be responsible for report writing and deliverable development.
  • Develop, plan and supervise field programs including drilling and testing programs, water sampling programs, field mapping, contractor management, hydrogeological characterisation.
  • Project manage and client management for projects and complete report writing and presentation needs as projects require. This may include leading client management, developing client relationships and identifying potential for service growth and expansion.
  • Mentor staff.
  • Contribute to marketing and business development activities.
  • Work in a wonderful smaller company culture.

The ideal candidate(s) should have the following attributes:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology or Geosciences.
  • A post-graduate degree in Hydrogeology is preferred.
  • Working experience in hydrogeology encompassing field work, analysis, assessment and design, report writing and liaison with clients and regulators .
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; other languages are an asset.
  • Willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally.
