Accounts Payable Clerk- Full Time

Hamilton, Ontario

Salary:  $45,700-$56,300

Position Description: As a motivated Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining Indwell’s accounts payable functions. Your responsibilities will include processing invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and maintaining financial records in alignment with organizational policies and procedures.

Hours of Work/Location:  Full time 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday. 9am-5pm. Based at Hamilton Main Office: 1430 Main St. East.  

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:    

 

  • Matching purchase orders with invoices and ensuring purchase orders have been prepared where required according to company policy.
  • Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update accounts payable records, including vendor information and payment history.
  • Process and verify all utility bills for payment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company procedures.
  • Process and record all utility bill payments.
  • Prepare and process checks and electronic payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end reporting and reconciliations.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal staff regarding accounts payable issues.
  • Assist with audit preparation by providing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Support other accounting and administrative functions as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL BE BRING:   

 

  • A bookkeeping or accounting diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (Excel, Word).  Experience withYardi software is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
